Note This app requires Windows 10 build 19041 or later, the file download will commence through the Windows App Store. Recovery on cloud storage and network file shares is not supported. Use this app to try to recover lost files that have been deleted from your local storage device (including internal drives, external drives, and USB devices) and can’t be restored from the Recycle Bin. If you can’t locate a lost file from your backup, then you can use Windows File Recovery, which is a command line app available from the Microsoft Store.

While these are third-party and Recuva has paid features, they do have GUIs.

Applications such as Recuva and Photorec are widely used for this. To date, users have relied on third-party applications to recover a file. Windows File Recovery works on the command line (CMD) and is available in the Microsoft Store for version 2004, currently the latest, of the OS.

If you've just accidentally deleted some important files, don't freak out: try using Recuva Portable and you'll probably be able to restore them.Microsoft releases a file recovery program for Windows 10 for you to download. Also, try saving them to a different drive: it improves the percentage of success. The sooner you use the program after deleting those files, the more chances you have of recovering them. Obviously Recuva Portable is just a software tool and can't perform miracles. You also have the possibility to turn the wizard off and use Recuva Portable with an advance interface that shows more technical data. Then simply select the files you want to recover and you're ready to go.

After the scan is finished (either in normal or deep mode) you'll be presented with a list of recoverable files. All you have to do is follow the step-by-step wizard, which launches when you run the program, and let Recuva Portable do the hard work for you.
